The College Spring League, which began in the spring of 2019, consists of two groups of four teams. Each team will play the other three teams in the group, and all eight teams will converge upon Columbus on April 16, for the final matches.
BGSU is in the North Division, along with Akron, Cleveland State and Michigan. The South Division includes Dayton, Louisville, Marshall and Ohio State.
After opening the spring slate at Butler on Sunday, March 20, the Falcons will begin College Spring League play, heading to Cleveland to meet CSU the following Sunday (March 27).
BGÂ then hits the road on back-to-back weekends to face Michigan (Sat., April 2) and Akron (Sun., April 10).
On Saturday, April 16, all eight College Spring League schools will converge upon Columbus for a total of four matches at Crew Stadium. The  coinciding seeds will face off, with the first-place team in the North Division playing the first-place team in the South Division, the second-place North team facing the second-place South team, etc.
Ohio State won the College Spring League crown in 2019 before it went on hiatus in 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and 2021 (the fall 2020 season was moved to the spring of 2021).
The Falcons finished the fall 2021 season with a record of 11-6-3, and BGSUÂ advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships. BG picked up a 1-0 victory at Louisville in the first round of the national tourney, marking the fifth NCAA Tournament victory in program history, and the first since 1997.
BG ended the season ranked number 30 in the final College Soccer News poll for the second consecutive season, and the Falcons ended the year 27th (second team among 'also receiving votes') in the final United Soccer Coaches rankings.
The Falcons have a record of 36-20-7 over the last 63 matches, dating to late in the 2018 season. A total of 13 of the 20 setbacks in that time have come by a single goal.
