BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Senior defensive linemen Karl Brooks and Walt Haire join this week's episode of "Fly With Us," Bowling Green football's official podcast as the Falcons are in the midst of spring practice.
"Fly with Us" is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify (search Fly With Us). BGSU's assistant athletics director for strategic communications Vincent Briedisconducts in-depth interviews as fans can get to know various members of the 2022 Falcons.
Brooks and Haire anchor the BGSU defensive line. They have played side-by-side since 2018 and are using their free COVID year in 2022. Brooks was voted a team captain in 2022 and is No. 7 all-time at BGSU in career sacks with 17.5. Haire started all 12 games in 2021 and notched 4.5 sacks. Neither player has been to the state of California and they are looking forward to opening the season against UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
"I look up to him [Karl Brooks] - especially with pass rush," said Haire. "He is getting sacks. I look up to him, so I always ask him in regard to pass rush, what am I doing wrong and what do I need to do more."

In 2022, BGSU will honor Phil Villapiano, Josh Harris and Kory Lichtensteiger with individual bobbleheads. The individual games each bobblehead will be offered are to be determined.
Football season ticket holders for 2022 can purchase all three in advance for only $30 per season ticket to avoid the lines and secure a bobblehead. The deadline to order is April 11. The season ticket holder can call the Bowling Green Athletics Ticket Office at 419-372-0000 or visit in person the ticket office at the Stroh Center, during normal business hours to add the bobbleheads to their account. Season ticket holders can also email or text at 419-372-0000 to add to their account. Only one set per season ticket purchase and the bobbleheads are not available for individual sale.
Although this option is only offered to season ticket holders, all fans can still pick up bobbleheads day of the game as supplies last (500 bobbleheads).
