Three Falcons Win In Singles As Bowling Green Falls To Buffalo

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons dropped their first home match of the month to Buffalo, 4-3. Like Friday, Selina Karg and Hannah Neuman opened the day with a win at No. 1 in doubles. The sophomores claimed a 6-4 victory to earn their third consecutive win. The duo has a 13-6 record as partners and has won three of their four MAC matches this season. The Bulls earned 6-4 victories in the No. 2 and 3 matches to take the doubles point.

In singles, Karg earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1. It marked the 14th singles victory of the season and 32nd of her career. In MAC play, the Augsburg, Germany native holds a 3-2 record this season. The next match to finish was No. 2, with Ioanna Tsadari notching a three-set win. The junior cruised to a 6-1 win in the first set before dropping the next set, 6-3. In the deciding set, Tsadari built a 3-2 lead and maintained momentum for a 6-3 triumph. Her MAC record this season is a team-best 4-1, with a season record of 14-12. In total, Tsadari has 55 career wins between singles and doubles.

The final match to complete was No. 4 singles, with Annika Vetter winning in three sets. The freshman dropped the opener, 6-2, before rebounding with a 6-4 win. She outlasted Ambre Amat in the third set, tallying a 12-10 victory to give the Falcons their third point. The win marked Vetter's 12th of the season and second in conference competition.

The loss drops BGSU to 4-12 on the season, with a 1-4 mark in MAC competition. Buffalo improves to 13-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
