Falcons Earn Doubles Point In Battle Of I-75

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons dropped the first edition of the Battle of I-75 to the Toledo Rockets, falling 5-2. The Falcons started the day with two doubles wins, earning the doubles point to gain a 1-0 lead. Selina Karg and Hannah Neuman won their fifth consecutive match as partners, improving their MAC record to 5-1 and career record to 15-6. Laura Maia Silveira and Maru Poppe were partnered for the second time in their careers, with today's triumph marking the first victory for the duo. It also notched Silveira's 30th career total win.

In singles, the Rockets built and maintained the lead, winning the first five matches in two sets each. At No. 5, Hannah Neuman rebounded from a first-set loss to win 7-5, then completed the comeback with a 10-4 victory in the tiebreaker. This was her second straight singles victory, giving her a combined 4-0 record this weekend. The loss drops Bowling Green to 4-14 overall and 1-6 in the MAC.
