June 15, 2022 | General
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University athletics department would like to proudly announce the Diverse Professionals Enhancement Program recipients for the 2022-23 school year. The DPEP program is dedicated to enhance the ethnic minority and gender representation in the field of intercollegiate athletics. The Diverse Professionals Enhancement Program was also created to help build a pipeline for future full-time internships and entry-level positions in college athletics.
The internship was split into two tracks, titled revenue generation and fan experience. The revenue generation track involves working with administration, the ticket office, and the Falcon Club, while the fan experience track works with the marketing department, gameday operations, and strategic communications.
Our two recipients for the internship are rising junior Darian Braddix and rising sophomore Jaydon Romero. Braddix will assist with revenue generation during her year-long internship, while Romero is partnering with fan experience.
Braddix stated, "I'm very excited to be a part of the DPEP program. I'm eager to learn and help our athletics department in any way I can!"
"I am very excited to be a part of Bowling Green Athletics and the Diverse Professionals Enhancement Program. Plenty of new doors to open and new paths to follow and I can't wait to see what the future holds."Â added Romero.
Regarding the internships, Director of Athletics Bob Moosbrugger stated, "Diversity and Belonging is a core value of BGSU. Within the athletics department, we take great pride in the diversity of our student-athletes and understand the role we play as administrators to grow the next generation of professionals. As a Filipino-American, I am excited for the development of this program with the current students."
