In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, BGSU Athletics named the Top 50 Female Athletes in BGSU Athletics history. Earlier this summer, we had fans nominate their favorite BGSU Falcons for the top 50 list. We had over 300 nominations from the fans. The committee then worked together to create the list of Top 50 Female Athletes in BGSU Athletics History. Here are our next ten members in our Top 50 Female Athletes in BGSU Athletics history.
Nikki Chiricosta – Tennis – Class of 2014
Chiricosta was the first BGSU women's tennis player to win the MAC Player of the Year. She was bestowed with the honor following her senior season in which she was also named to the First Team All-MAC. Chiricosta was the second player in program history to be named Academic All-American. Her career concluded with 190 overall wins, which is a school record. Her 96 singles victories were the most in a career as well. Her winning percentage was .691, as she went on to being named First Team All-MAC twice and Second Team All-MAC once in her career.
Brooke Pleger – Track and Field – Class of 2015
Pleger became the first female in BGSU Athletics history to be a three-time first team All-American. She was named the MAC's Most Outstanding Field Athlete twice in her career. As a senior, she was a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year. A three-time MAC champion and six-time Academic All-MAC. Pleger still holds the school record in the Hammer at 228-9.Â
Kallie Seimet – Volleyball – Class of 2019
Seimet was the first player in Mid-America Conference history to be named back-to-back MAC Player of the Year and MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Earned back-to-back AVCA All-Northeast Region honors. Was named to the First Team All-MAC twice in her career. She is the BGSU career leader in digs at 2,365. Averaged 5.24 digs per set. In her career, she was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week 14 times.Â
Aliyah Gustafson – Track and Field – Class of 2019
Gustafson was a five-time All-American in the shot put. As a senior, she placed seventh at the Indoor NCAA National Championships on her way to being named to the first team. She was also named the MAC Field Performer of the Year in indoor and outdoor of her senior year. In outdoor, Gustafson found herself on the second team. In her career, she was a six-time All-MAC honoree. She was an accomplished as well as she was named to the Academic All-MAC five times in her career. She was the MAC Champion five times in the hammer throw. She still holds the school record in the shot put at 57-5.75.Â
Talisa Lemke – Diving – Class of 2020
Lemke was named a CSCAA All-American following her senior season. She racked up many other awards that year as well. She was named MAC Diver of the Year, MAC Most Outstanding Senior, First Team All-MAC, Academic All-MAC, and MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in her final year. She collected 17 consecutive victories and finished her career with five total conference titles. Overall she was named to the First Team All-MAC three times, MAC Diver of the Year two times, and Academic All-MAC three times. Her first season with the Falcons, she was MAC Freshman Diver of the Year and Second Team All-MAC.Â
Jovannah East – Gymnastics – Class of 2020Â
East was named to the All-MAC First Team in three straight years from 2017-2019. During that time, she was an NCAA Regionals Qualifier and MAC All-Tournament Team each year. In 2018, she was an NCAA Nationals Qualifier. In her first year, East was named the MAC Freshman of the Year. In her sophomore season, she was the MAC Vault Co-Champion and as a junior she was named MAC Beam Co-Champion. East was named MAC Gymnast of the Week seven times in her career.Â
Chelsee Washington – Soccer – Class of 2020Â
Chelsee was selected by the Orlando Pride in the NWSL after her senior season, becoming the first player in program history to be drafted. As a senior, she was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the team with 25 points. She scored eight goals and assisted on nine more. She was a two-time First Team All-MAC in her career. She concluded with 19 career goals, 21 career assists, and 59 career points.
Daisy Platts – Swimming – Class of 2022Â
Platts earned her way onto the First Team All-MAC in all four of her seasons. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in 100 Backstroke, 200 Backstroke, and 200 IM. She is also the school record holder in each of those events. Finished 22nd at NCAA Championships in the 200 Backstroke. Platts is a five-time MAC Champion. She holds the fifth fastest time in school history in the 400 IM. Holds nine of the ten fastest times in program history in the 200 IM and holds each of the ten fastest times in school history in both the 100 and 200 Backstroke.Â
Kaila Butler – Track and Field – Class of 2022
Butler was a three-time All-American in the hammer throw. Her top finish at NCAA Championships was a ninth place finish during the 2020-21 season. She was a two-time First team All-MAC recipient.  She was a champion inside and outside of the classroom, as she was named Academic All-MAC five times in her career. She was the MAC Champion in 20 lb weight throw and hammer throw.Â
Katelyn Meyer – Volleyball – Class of 2023
Meyer is the first player in BGSU volleyball history to be named First Team All-MAC four times. She was the 2020-21 MAC Tournament MVP and made the All-Tournament Team once more in 2019. She is a three-time Academic All-MAC selection. In her career, she was name MAC Offensive Player of the Week five times. At the start of the 2022 season, she is fifth all-time at BGSU in kills with 1,442 and second all-time in attack attempts with 4,243.Â
Petra Indrova – Volleyball – Class of 2023
Following the 2021 season, Indrova was named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, the first All-American in BGSU volleyball history. Also in 2021, Indrova was named MAC Player of the Year, First Team All-MAC, MAC All-Tournament Team, Academic All-MAC and AVCA All-Northeast Region Team. Twice in her career, she has been named to the First Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC.Â
