Scoring Plays
- Just under 12 minutes into the game, Evan Dougherty put the Falcons on the board with a power play goal. After BGSU worked the puck along the right side, Austen Swankler centered it to Ben Wozney. He fired it right back to Swankler, who made a backdoor pass to Dougherty for the score.
- Less than two minutes into the second period, Bowling Green netted another power play goal. Wozney dumped the puck into the zone, then Swankler dished it to Nathan Burke between the circles. His wrist shot went top shelf for the score.
- Shortly after a successful penalty kill, the Falcons added another score in the second. Swankler attacked the right side of the zone, then sent a pass to Ryan O'Hara in the center. He continued to move it to the left, finding the stick of a crashing Ben Wozney, who knocked it in.
- Halfway through the second frame, Lake Superior State scored a power play goal of their own. Jacob Bengtsson moved along the blue line and fired a pass to Louis Boudon, who pushed it to Harrison Roy between the circles. His one-timer found twine for the Lakers' first goal.
- O'Hara padded the Falcon lead a few minutes later with a nifty redirect. Chase Gresock's cross-ice pass found Dalton Norris, who sent the puck at the net. O'Hara was placed perfectly to redirect it between his legs and across the goal line.
- With five minutes to play in the second, the Lakers scored again. Bengtsson sent the puck up the left boards to Logan Jenuwine, who fed it to an attacking Timo Bakos. His shot slipped through for LSSU's second goal.
- The Lakers scored with just over three minutes remaining to cut their deficit to one. After a frantic pileup in the crease, the puck escaped to Bengtsson at the point. He found an open Jared Kucharek in the left circle, who slotted it for the goal.
- Swankler closed the scoring with a buzzer-beating empty net goal. After O'Hara and Max Coyle had their shots blocked, Swankler cleaned up the rebound as the clock hit zero.
- Austen Swankler recorded a career-best four points, giving him a team-high 34 on the season. He has scored in 14 consecutive games, tallying 27 points in this stretch.
- Ben Wozney tallied a career-best three points, including his second career goal.
- Ryan O'Hara extended his scoring streak to six games with a three-point night. He ranks second on the squad with 24 points this season.
- Nathan Burke and Evan Dougherty tallied power play goals, with Burke's moving him into a tie with Ethan Scardina for the team lead (6).
- Christian Stoever made 21 saves in his first appearance of the series.
