
Bowling Green Drops Saturday Battle To Huskies

HOUGHTION, Mich. - The Bowling Green Falcons (5-11-0, 3-5-0 CCHA) dropped the second game of the series to the Michigan Tech Huskies (7-7-3, 5-3-0 CCHA) in an exciting back and forth battle on Saturday night. Bowling Green and Michigan Tech were almost even on the box score, through faceoffs, saves, and shots. The Huskies began the scoring late in the first period and responded early into the second. Spencer Kersten began the scoring for the Falcons four minutes later and Brett Pfoh tied the game up not soon after. Michigan Tech called game late in the third period to secure the weekend split.

Scoring Plays
- Kash Rasmussen began the scoring at 4:09 in the first period. Rasmussen received the puck in the left faceoff circle and hit it right under the bar past Moore, to gain the 1-0 lead.
- Max Koskipirtti gained the 2-0 lead for the Huskies at 16:00 in the second period. Koskipirtti found the rebound on Lachain Getz shot and pushed the puck past Moore on the doorstep.
- Spencer Kersten started the scoring for the Falcons on a tremendous play at 11:59 in the second period. Kersten found the puck on the red goal line after the Huskies goaltender made a failed clear attempt. Kersten was at the boards on the red line and shot the puck with little to no angle to put the Falcons on the board 2-1.Â
- Brett Pfoh tied the game up at 9:27 in the second period. The puck hit off the boards right in front of the Huskies goaltender and Pfoh hit it in to make the game 2-2.
- Issac Gordon made the game winning goal for the Huskies at 6:03 in the third period. Tyrone Bronte made a shot from above the right faceoff circle and Gordon got a piece of it to redirect the puck past Moore, to secure the 3-2 win.

- Spencer Kersten recorded his fourth goal in the Orange and Brown and 19th career goal. Kersten now tallies five points on the season with four goals and an assist.
- Brett Pfoh recorded his sixth point of the season (3g,3a) and 11th career point (5g,6a).
- Breck McKinley tallied his third assist on the season.Â
- Cole Moore recorded 32 saves on the night which was his third best season high. Moore's season high saves was at Western Michigan (10/21) with 42 and second best being at Lake Superior State (11/18) with 34.
