Bowling Green Brings Battle Of I-75 To The Stroh Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will host this season's second edition of the Battle of I-75 on Saturday (Feb. 18) inside the Stroh Center. The Falcons and Rockets are scheduled for a 5 p.m. tip that will mark the Bill Frack Game for BGSU. The Orange and Brown will also have an Orange Out for the game and the Mascot Reveal after the game. The rivalry game will be available to watch on ESPN3. Saturday will mark the 180th meeting all-time, and the second this season, between Bowling Green and Toledo. The Rockets lead the all-time series with a record of 96-83, but the Falcons hold the advantage when hosting, holding a record of 50-30 when the series is played in Bowling Green. In the first meeting, the Falcons were led by Leon Ayers III with 21 points. Chandler Turner added a double-double for BGSU with 12 points and 10 rebounds while both Rashaun Agee and Samari Curtis tallied 14 points each.Â

Turner began the stretch with a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds) in the first meeting against Toledo and is averaging a team-high 6.3 rebounds over the span. The surge on the boards has raised Turner's average during MAC play to 6.5 rebounds per game, which ranks ninth in the conference and leads the Falcons.Â

Rashaun Agee has recorded a team-high 31 blocks this season, tying for second in the MAC with Toledo's JT Shumate and Akron's Enrique Freeman. Ball State's Demarius Jacobs leads the MAC with 35. Agee has had two over the last three games and now sits four away from setting a new career-high for a single season, previously having 34 last year at Casper College.Â
