Schneider Breaks Falcon Hockey Record for Games Played as Season Concludes

Senior skates in 182nd career game as Falcons drop overtime heartbreaker to Ferris State
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Taylor Schneider broke the Falcon Hockey record for games played and Bowling Green scored another late-game goal with the extra attacker, but Ferris State tallied an overtime goal for the second consecutive night to win the CCHA Quarterfinals series by a score of 2-1. Schneider skated in his 182nd game, one night after scoring a third-period goal that sent the game to overtime. Chase Gresock netted the late goal for the Falcons tonight, his 104th career point. BGSU concludes the season at 15-19-2 (12-12-2 CCHA), with Ferris State entering the CCHA Semifinals with a record of 14-18-4 (9-14-3 CCHA).

Scoring Plays
- After 47 minutes of scoreless hockey, Ferris State took the lead in the third with a Brenden MacLaren goal. Matt Slick moved the puck into the neutral zone to Jacob Dirks, then he fed it to MacLaren who scored from the right circle.
- With 1:17 to play, the Falcons once again tallied a goal with the extra attacker. This time, it was Chase Gresock, who whistled a shot from the left dot after a pair of quick passes from Austen Swankler and Zach Vinnell.
- FSU scored the game-winner just over four minutes into the extra frame. Antonio Venuto passed it to Jason Brancheau as he entered the neutral zone, then Brancheau found twine from the top of the left circle.
- Taylor Schneider set the program record for career games played at 182, which is also an NCAA record for most games played with a single team. He now ranks fifth in NCAA history in games played. The fifth-year forward concludes his career with 44 goals and 63 assists for 107 points, with his point total ranking 61st in Falcon Hockey history.
- Alex Barber concluded his career with 177 games played, which is fifth in school history. The two-year captain totaled 42 goals and 66 assists for 108 points, giving him the 60th-highest point total in Falcon Hockey history.
- Chase Gresock scored his 11th goal of the year, putting him at 31 points. The fifth-year senior concludes his collegiate career with 46 goals and 58 assists for 104 points.
- Zach Vinnell tallied an assist for the seventh straight game, putting his season total at 19. He ends the year with 20 points, totaling 44 assists and 53 points in his 121-game career.
- Evan Dougherty finished his Falcon Hockey career with 123 games played, totaling 26 points. He also served as assistant captain for two seasons.
- Nathan Burke concludes his collegiate career with 46 goals and 34 assists for 80 points in 157 games. He played two seasons at BGSU, tallying 33 goals and 19 assists for 52 points in 73 games.
- Austen Swankler notched his 25th assist of the season, putting his season point total at 44. This is BGSU's highest single-season point total since 2005-06, when Alex Foster had 51 points. Swankler's career line is 27 goals and 43 assists for 71 points.
