Falcons Drop Sunday Match to UT as 2022-23 Season Concludes

PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-16, 0-10 MAC) closed the 2022-23 season at home on Sunday (April 23), falling to the No. 64 Toledo Rockets (19-3, 10-0 MAC) by a score of 7-0. The Rockets won a pair of doubles matches, both 6-0, to earn the day's first point. Then swept singles spots No. 2-6 to clinch a win and outright regular season MAC title. Eloise Saraty and Cassie Alcala battled for three sets at No. 1, with Saraty withstanding a late Alcala rally to win the opening set, 7-6 (2). Alcala responded with an efficient 6-1 win in the second set, inducing the tiebreak set. In the tiebreak, Alcala went up 3-0 before Saraty responded with two points of her own. Two more points from Alcala were answered by a Saraty point, but Alcala put another one on the board. Saraty scored three points in a row to tie the set, 6-6. The duo traded the next eight points to make it 10-10, but Alcala scored the final two to earn the victory.
