Coming off a freshman campaign that resulted in a MAC title in the 1500, Kylee Cubbison looks to be a key piece for the Falcons during the 2023 season.

Q: Did you do anything exciting this summer?
Cubbison: Over the summer I spent a lot of time with my family and all of our pets. I went on vacation with my family to the beach. I was also a volunteer coach for my high school cross country team.
Q: How did you get into running?
Cubbison: My freshman year of high school I joined the track team with some of my friends to stay in shape for soccer. I ran with the cross country team in the summer and then decided to join the cross country team the fall of my sophomore year.

Q: Why did you choose BG XC?
Cubbison: I chose BG XC because of the educational and athletic opportunities. Coach Snelling has built a solid program with everything you need for success as a student athlete. He creates custom training programs for each runner and the program offers the same amount of support to you as a student. My teammates are amazing athletes and students.
Q: As a sophomore, what are you looking forward to this season?
Cubbison: I am looking forward to the opportunity to represent BG XC and race with my teammates. I trained all summer for the opportunity to get back out there and improve upon my freshman season.

Q: Coming off a great performance in Akron, what are your personal goals for this season?
Cubbison: My goals this season are to work hard, improve, and help the overall success of the team. I want to improve upon my times from last year and place higher at the MAC Championship meet.
Q: Is there any teammate that you have developed a strong bond with during your time at BG?
Cubbison: The whole team is close and has a strong bond. Everyone is there for each other. Kailee Perry helped me a lot with the transition from home to college and continues to be one of the teammates I look up to.

Q: What is an achievement you are most proud of?
Cubbison: I’m proud to be a part of this team. They give me the opportunity to be the best student athlete. Obviously I am also proud to have won the 1500m at the MAC Championships and to have helped our team achieve the best team finish since 1998! I am equally as proud to be on the BGSU Dean’s list.
Q: What is your favorite place to eat off campus in BG?
Cubbison: My favorite places to eat off campus in BG are Bob Evans and Big Boy.

Q: Do you have any other hobbies besides running?
Cubbison: I like spending time with my family and our dogs and cats. I also enjoy building Legos. I’ve been building Legos since I was a kid and continue to add on to my collection.
Q: Being from Mifflin Country, Pa., would you say you are a fan of ‘The Office’?
Cubbison: I am a big fan of the Office. I’ve seen every episode and can watch them again and again.
