Gilmore Named to College Soccer News National Team of Week
September 25, 2023 | Women's Soccer
Bowling Green State University women's soccer standout Isabelle Gilmore has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon (Sept. 25).
Gilmore, a native of DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt), anchored a Falcon defense that had two shutouts and allowed just four total shots on goal in last week's two matches. Gilmore, a center back and the only Falcon to play all 180 minutes on the week, helped BGSU limit Toledo to just three shots on goal in a 2-0 win in Thursday's (Sept. 21) Mid-American Conference opener. The Rockets had led the MAC in scoring coming into that match.
Following the Falcons' Thursday shutout of the Rockets, UT and Western Michigan entered the weekend tied for first in the MAC in goals per game. But, on Sunday (Sept. 24), Gilmore and the Falcons limited the Broncos to only one total shot on goal over the 90 minutes in a scoreless draw
Gilmore is the lone Falcon to have played every second of every match this season to date, and has helped the Brown and Orange keep three clean sheets in eight matches this fall.
The Falcons, now 3-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the MAC, are home on Thursday night (Sept. 28), facing Akron in a 7:00 p.m. start at Cochrane Stadium. Admission is free.
