FASCINATING FALCON FACTS
• The Falcons are 2-1-1 on the young season, and BGSU takes a two-match unbeaten streak into the DePaul match. On Labor Day afternoon (Sept. 4), Cusimano again opened the scoring with a header, and Shope scored the game-winning goal midway through the second half as the Falcons topped Michigan, 2-1, at Cochrane Stadium.
• A crowd of 2,012 watched the win over the Wolverines. That is the seventh-largest crowd at Cochrane Stadium in the last quarter century (attendance records are available from 1997 to the present).
• Bowling Green returned 11 letterwinners, including seven starters, from the 2022 team that went 6-5-5 overall and finished third in the Mid-American Conference with a 4-2-2 league ledger. Head coach Eric Nichols and his staff have a whopping 14 newcomers on the 2023 roster.
FALCON FIRSTS
• A total of five BGSU players made their respective Falcon debuts in the win over Cleveland State. That group included freshmen Mads Christensen, Anthony Hernandez and Bennett Painter, along with transfers Taylor Dyson and Rodrigo Montez Silva. • Sophomore Andrew Shaffer had the first two-goal match of his young career vs. CSU, while Trace Terry recorded his first two-assist match as a Falcon. For Terry, the assists were the first and second, respectively, of his BG career.
• Shaffer made the first start of his career at Duquesne, while Montez Silva, a transfer from Keiser University, made his first start as a Falcon vs. the Dukes.
• Fifth-year Falcon Eli Shope's goal vs. Michigan was the first game-winning goal of his Falcon career.
• Freshman Jake Lane made his collegiate debut in the win over U-M.

• Kyle Cusimano has scored a goal in two-straight matches entering the DePaul contest, while Eli Shope has found the back of the net in both of BGSU's home matches to date.
• Since the start of the 2009 season, BGSU is now 83-9-7 when scoring two or more goals in a match.
