BGSU Men's Hoops Draws Louisiana For February MAC-SBC Challenge Matchup

Falcons, Ragin' Cajuns Game Scheduled For Sunday, Feb. 11
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference announced the February slate of games for this year's MAC-SBC Challenge. With the announcement, the Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will be traveling to Lafayette, La. on Sunday, Feb. 11 to take on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball that began this season. The second MAC-SBC Challenge contest for each team are matchups based on real-time NET rankings, projected season finish and previous cross-conference contests.
The game will mark the first meeting between BGSU and Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns are currently 11-8 on the season and hold a 4-3 record within the Sun Belt Conference. Louisiana has won three straight and four of their last five. In their first MAC-SBC Challenge game, the Ragin' Cajuns fell to Toledo in an 87-78 final score at Savage Arena.
The Falcons' first game as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge came on Nov. 11 when BGSU hosted Arkansas State. Bowling Green came away with an 81-75 victory in the game to move to 2-0 on the season. Now, the Falcons are winners in 12 of their last 13 games to post a 14-4 record including a 5-1 MAC standing. The record is the best through 18 games for Bowling Green since the 2001-02 campaign.

The Falcons will stay at home for their next game, hosting the Kent State Golden Flashes on Tuesday (Jan. 23) for a 7 p.m. tip at the Stroh Center. The game will be a Black Out with fans being asked to wear black in the stands.
