Battle Of I-75 To Air On National TV Feb. 23 At 7 p.m.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will be back on national TV. The Mid-American Conference announced Thursday (Feb. 8) that the Falcons' home game against Toledo has been selected to air nationally on ESPNU. The announcement will move the game from Saturday, Feb. 24 to Friday, Feb. 23 and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip at the Stroh Center.Â
"Having a pivotal late season game moved to national TV is a significant acknowledgment to the hard work our players have put in to rebuild Bowling Green basketball and put the program on the map in the MAC," said Bowling Green head coach Todd Simon. "We are excited for the nation to see the incredible environment of a packed Stroh Center."Â
Any fans who already have tickets will not need new tickets. Any ticket purchased prior to the change will still work for Friday's game. For questions, please contact the BGSU Ticket Office at 419-372-0000 or email tickets@bgsu.edu
The game against the rival Rockets will be Bowling Green's second nationally televised game this season, previously facing Akron on Jan. 5 on CBS Sports Network. This marks the first time since the 2020-21 season that BGSU will have multiple MAC games on national TV. The last time BGSU hosted a nationally televised game was Feb. 9, 2021 against Kent State. Additionally, it's the first time the Falcons will appear on ESPNU since March 6, 2020 against Buffalo. BGSU played on ESPNU twice that season, both against Buffalo.Â
The Falcons are currently tied for fourth in the MAC with a 7-4 conference record while being 16-7 on the season. The game against Toledo, now on Feb. 23, will be the return home after three road contests for BGSU. The Orange and Brown will take on Louisiana in the Sun Belt Challenge on Sunday (Feb. 11) before continuing their road trip with Eastern Michigan on Feb. 17 and Central Michigan on Feb. 20.Â
