Falcon Tennis Signs Lucia Gaio To National Letter of Intent
June 11, 2024 | Women's Tennis
Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's tennis program and head coach Mike Bonnell has announced the signing of Lucia Gaio to a National Letter of Intent. Gaio will join the Falcons for the 2024-25 season.
"With the addition of Lucia in our lineup, our team bumps up a level in terms of competitiveness. She has been tested by tough international tournament experience and will be more than ready to make her mark in the MAC," said Bonnell. "Lucia transitions beautifully from defense to offense and can play with variety that we want our team to be known for. She will bring an intensity that is going to inspire her teammates. I think our fans are going to find it easy to root for her and she will feed off the energy they bring. The Falcons are lucky to get this one as Lucia is going to be a difference maker."
Gaio joins the Falcons from Genova, Italy and plans to major in Exercise Science.
"I love the idea of attending a college in an other part of the world. BGSU seems like a big family, so friendly and nice," said Gaio.
