January 12, 2025 | Women's Basketball
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team has officially added a student-athlete to the 2024-25 roster. Sofia Moschen, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has joined the Falcons and is enrolled at BGSU for the Spring 2025 semester.
Moschen, a 6-2 freshman forward, is a graduate of Centro Educational Leonardo Da Vinci.
"We are thrilled to have Sofia with us at BGSU," said head coach Fred Chmiel. "Sofia is a versatile forward with size. She is a three-level scorer who plays with skill and aggression.
"Sofia comes from an incredible family and adds a wealth of international basketball experiences to our program. We are very lucky to add her to our team and our community."
Moschen's experiences on the court include representing her country at numerous national tournaments, including the South American U15 Women's Championship in 2022 and both the FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship and the South American U17 Women's Championship in 2023. Her team won the title at the latter tournament.
In 2024, she participated in the BWB (Basketball Without Borders) games, averaging 5.7 points per game for the Phoenix Mercury.
