Falcons Draw Coastal Carolina In MAC-Sun Belt Challenge For Feb. 8 Matchup

BGSU To Host Chanticleers In Second Leg Of MAC-Sun Belt Challenge
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference announced the February slate of games for this year's MAC-SBC Challenge on Monday morning (Jan. 13). With the announcement, the Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will be hosting the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers inside the Stroh Center on Feb. 8 with a 2 p.m. tip. The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance in the sports of men's and women's basketball that began last season. The second MAC-SBC Challenge contest for each team are matchups based on real-time NET rankings, projected season finish and previous cross-conference contests.
The game will mark the first meeting between BGSU and Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers are currently 8-9 on the season while holding a 1-4 record within the Sun Belt Conference. In their first MAC-SBC Challenge game, Coastal Carolina hosted Western Michigan in their season opener on Nov. 4. The Chanticleers topped the Broncos in a close 60-56 final.
The Falcons' first game as part of this season's MAC-SBC Challenge came on Nov. 4 when BGSU traveled to Southern Miss, coming up short in the 77-68 final. On the season, the Falcons are currently 6-9 while being 1-2 within the MAC, topping Western Michigan 83-79 for the team's MAC victory. Bowling Green will be home for three of their next four contests, including two this week with Buffalo on Tuesday (Jan. 14) and Eastern Michigan on Saturday (Jan. 18).
