KJ Torbert (East Lansing, Michigan / East Lansing HS)
KJ Torbert will arrive to the Falcons after establishing himself as one of the best players in the state of Michigan for the Class of 2026. Leading his team to a state championship last year, Torbert was named the MVP of the State Finals on top of All-State, All-City and All-Conference First Team selections. His season put him at the top of this year's Michigan's Mr. Basketball Award contenders and in the conversation for the best high school basketball player in the state of Michigan. During his high school career, he's been a three-time recipient of All-State honors as well as All-City and All-Conference. Torbert will arrive in Bowling Green as a second generation collegiate basketball player. His father, Kelvin Torbert Sr., played basketball at Michigan State from 2001-05.
Coach Simon on Torbert:
"We are extremely excited to add KJ to the program. He is a winner and embodies what we want our team to be about. He's proven at the high school level that he can impact games at the highest level as a state champion and State Finals MVP. KJ comes from a great family that has been instrumental in his journey. We cannot wait to get to work with KJ and start his legacy at BGSU."
