BGSU Tennis Adds Lea Schewiola

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – BGSU Tennis head coach Mike Bonnell has announced the signing of Lea Schewiola, who will be joining the program in January. Schewiola is a true freshman from Germany and trained at the Robert Orlik Tennis Academy.
When asked why she chose BGSU, Schewiola said "An environment that cares about each individual player and person is what I had in mind when choosing a college. The coach, the team and the college itself seem to be exactly like that. I'm very excited and thankful for this opportunity and can't wait to start!"
Prior to her commitment to BGSU, Schewiola was the winner of a national tournament in Cologne, Germany, she was ranked 8th in the region for U18 singles, and she was the number one and captain of her high school tennis team.
"Lea will be joining us in January, and I think she will fit in great with the program we are building. The athleticism, and ball striking, are right where they need to be. She is going to have hit the ground running, and adapt to college tennis quickly, but our team gets better when she arrives."
