BGSU Football Announces Eighth Annual Holidays with Falcon Football
November 07, 2025 | Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University football program is proud to announce the Eighth Annual Holidays with Falcon Football, a cherished tradition that brings joy to children and families in the Bowling Green community during the holiday season.
First launched in 2018 by then-Falcon student-athletes Gabe Skrobot and Presley Motes, the initiative began with 36 local children between the ages of 2 and 12. Since then, Holidays with Falcon Football has provided holiday cheer to more than 200 children across the Bowling Green area, reflecting the team's commitment to giving back to the community that supports them year-round.
This year, the Falcons are striving to make the program's biggest impact yet, with a goal of raising $10,000 to support children and families in need. Every dollar raised will go directly toward providing gifts, clothing, and other essentials for underprivileged children in the Bowling Green community.
The event is organized and led entirely by BGSU football student-athletes, who will personally shop for and wrap gifts based on wish lists provided by local families. In early December, the Falcons will host a holiday celebration—complete with games, food, and the gift exchange—bringing together the student-athletes, children, and families for a memorable day of connection and celebration.
BGSU Football is partnering with local organizations throughout Wood County to identify families who could use a little extra support this holiday season.

THEY SAID IT
• Founder Gabe Skrobot: "I got the idea from a program that my high school does every year for children in my community. I saw how big of an impact it had on them and knew that the Bowling Green community could benefit from something similar. As a student-athlete, the Bowling Green community supported me and my teammates beyond measure that it was the least we could do to give back to the community. Seeing the program continue since my time at BGSU ended has brought me great joy. I'm so proud of my previous teammates for keeping the tradition alive. It is a testament to the culture and brotherhood within the BGSU Football program that they are all playing for something greater than themselves and truly want to make an impact during their time there."
• Co-Founder Presley Motes: "I was honored to be a part of the Holidays with Falcon Football events. There is nothing better than seeing the joy in a child's eyes. This event gave the Falcon football team a chance to give back to our amazing community. I hope this is something that is carried on for many years because it is my favorite community outreach event I participated in as a Falcon. Ay Ziggy Zoomba and Merry Christmas!"
