Javontae Campbell Named MAC Scholar Athlete Of The Week For Second Time This Season
December 11, 2025 | Men's Basketball
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Scholar-Athletes of the Week Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 11). Of those named, Bowling Green's Javontae Campbell was named the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week. This is the second time Campbell has won the award and the fourth time this season BGSU has had an honoree. Volleyball's Lauryn Hovey was named on Sept. 11 with women's soccer's Emma Stransky named on Sept. 18. Campbell is also the fourth player in the MAC to win the award twice this season. Student-Athletes can earn the award only twice a season, eliminating Campbell from future consideration.
Campbell led the Falcons in a week that included a win over Kansas State as well as a 131-point performance. Campbell led BGSU in assists in each of BG's three games, logging at least five in each contest including a season-high nine against Aquinas. Campbell also led the Falcons in scoring against Utah Valley with 24, his fourth 20-point game of the season. In the win over Kansas State, Campbell tallied 17 points, six rebounds and five assists while shooting 54.5-percent from the field. He followed it up against Utah Valley with 24 points in addition to five rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block. Campbell closed out his week by flirting with a quadruple-double. In just 24 minutes of action against Aquinas, he stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, nine assists, seven rebounds, six steals and two blocks.
Up Next
The Falcons will have a brief hiatus with exams this week, but will remain at home for their next game. Bowling Green will host Chicago State on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Stroh Center with a 7 p.m. tip.
