Swim & Dive Drops Tri-Meet with Toledo and Buffalo

TOLEDO, Ohio – Finishing the second half of yesterday's tri-meet with Toledo and Buffalo at the Rockets' Student Recreation Center pool, the Falcons lost to the hosts, 196-157, and the Bulls, 225-128.
The first 10 events of the meet took place at Cooper Pool on Friday night's Senior Night, while the final nine were concluded in the Glass City.
BGSU earned two top three finishes from Ava Vial. The graduate student placed third in both the 100 breaststroke (1:04.81) and the 400 IM (4:33.31).
The Falcons notched runner-up in the 400 medley relay courtesy of Emily McNicol, Vial, Grace Bodrock and Samia Becdach's mark of 3:48.75.
In a close 200 freestyle relay – where the top three times all came within 0.25 seconds of each other – Becdach, Riley McNichols, McNicol and Elayna Krupp came in third (1:34.90).
McNicol (56.08) and Bodrock (57.11) each got fourth in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly, respectively.
Abby Toepfer was the Falcons' top finisher in the 500 freestyle, while Becdach led Bowling Green in the 200 freestyle.
Leading the way for BGSU in the 1-meter dive was Evie Long.

The Falcons will be gearing up for the MAC Championships over the course of the month of February. Divers will compete at the Miami (OH) Classic this upcoming weekend, while the non-MAC participants will take their talents to Ohio State's Winter Invitational the following weekend.
