Falcons Fight in Huntington Double Dual

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Bowling Green women's swim and dive team competed in a double dual against Marshall and Duquesne on Friday at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium, turning in several event wins and podium finishes across the meet.
Emily McNicol paced the Falcons in the pool, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 56.54. Caroline Toledo added a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle and placed second again in the 500 freestyle, while Samia Becdach finished third in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.
On the boards, Sadie Dempz claimed first place on the three meter springboard with a score of 259.73, while Claire Werner placed second on the one meter with a 241.35.
The Falcons earned a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay and added a podium result in the 200 freestyle relay, closing the meet with a third place showing in the 400 freestyle relay.
"We came up short on both sides, but that's okay. It was an extremely competitive battle in Huntington. Big highlights from today were Sadie Dempz and Emily McNicol."
The Falcons will travel to Fishers, Ind. On Jan. 25 for a dual meet against Butler.
