The Falcons Nest Coaches Show Returns Monday Night For First Show Of 2026
January 05, 2026 | General, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Gymnastics
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The weekly Falcons Nest Coaches Show presented by Fricker's, returns Monday night (Jan. 5) on Falcon Sports Radio Network stations for the first show on the 2026 portion of the show's calendar. This week's show will feature three sports, two in-person and one pre-recorded segment. Head men's basketball coach Todd Simon will begin the show at 6 p.m. with a taped segment with Todd Walker due to the team's travel. The in-person portion will pick up with assistant women's basketball coach Kadie Hempfling followed by head gymnastics coach Brittney Emmons. Hempfling and Emmons will join Kevin Piel at the Bowling Green Fricker's with Piel stepping in for Walker due to basketball travel.
This year's show will be hosted in a special room at Fricker's with a maximum capacity of 55. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure an enjoyable and timely experience for all fans, there will not be autograph opportunities — but this creates a more interactive, conversational atmosphere to connect with BGSU coaches and fans.
Fans are encouraged to submit questions by clicking HERE. You can also interact with Todd Walker on Twitter at @FalconsVoice. For fans unable to make the show in person at Fricker's, the show can be heard locally on WFRO 99.1 FM, 100.7 FM in Toledo, 1280 WONW in Defiance and 970 WFUN in Ashtabula. There will also be streams through BGSUFalcons.com and "The Varsity Network" app from Learfield Sports.
The men's basketball team is coming off an electrifying 101-100 overtime road victory over UMass on Saturday (Jan. 3). Javontae Campbell led the way with a historic 47 points, the most points by a Falcon on the road in program history. BGSU now turns attention to a road contest against Kent State on Tuesday (Jan. 6) before returning home for a nationally televised game against Akron on Friday (Jan. 9) with a 7 p.m. tip.
The women's basketball team is coming off a home game against Central Michigan this past Saturday (Jan. 3), led by Kendal Moxey off the bench with 16 points and 15 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards. The Falcons now hit the road for their next two games. After a makeshift bye week during the mid-week slate, BGSU will resume play on Saturday (Jan. 10) with a 3 p.m. tip at NIU. The road trip continues next week at Western Michigan with their next home game being on Jan. 17.
The gymnastics team is in the process of prepping for their season opener this weekend, hosting Eastern Michigan at the Stroh Center on Sunday (Jan. 11) for a 2 p.m. start. The theme for the meet will be Youth Day. Now in the second season under head coach Brittney Emmons, the Falcons will look to build on last year's momentum.
