The Falcons Nest Coaches Show To Feature Simon, Chmiel, Nicholson Monday Night
February 16, 2026 | General, Men's Basketball, Ice Hockey, Women's Basketball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The weekly Falcons Nest Coaches Show presented by Fricker's, returns Monday night (Feb. 16) on Falcon Sports Radio Network stations with a trio of guests. The show will begin at 6 p.m. with head men's basketball coach Todd Simon joining the Voice of the Falcons, Todd Walker. Walker will then be joined by head women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel around 6:20 p.m. followed by assistant hockey coach Matt Nicholson around 6:40 p.m. All three interviews will be in-person at the Bowling Green Fricker's.
This year's show will be hosted in a special room at Fricker's with a maximum capacity of 55. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure an enjoyable and timely experience for all fans, there will not be autograph opportunities — but this creates a more interactive, conversational atmosphere to connect with BGSU coaches and fans.
Fans are encouraged to submit questions by clicking HERE. You can also interact with Todd Walker on Twitter at @FalconsVoice. For fans unable to make the show in person at Fricker's, the show can be heard locally on WFRO 99.1 FM, 100.7 FM in Toledo, 1280 WONW in Defiance and 970 WFUN in Ashtabula. There will also be streams through BGSUFalcons.com and "The Varsity Network" app from Learfield Sports.
The men's basketball team is coming off a win over Toledo this past Saturday (Feb. 14) with an 80-70 victory, the first double-digit win over Toledo since 2010 for the Falcons, giving BGSU three-straight MAC wins. Men's hoops now transitions to the week ahead, taking on two of the top three teams in the MAC. The Falcons begin at home on Tuesday (Feb. 17), hosting the Kent State Golden Flashes. After that, BGSU will transition to a nationally-televised game against a nationally-ranked opponent, traveling to face Miami (OH) Friday night (Feb. 20) for an 8:30 p.m. start.
The women's basketball team heads into the week with a pair of home games, including their own Battle of I-75 matchup. The week will begin on Wednesday (Feb. 18) for the women against Western Michigan set for a 7 p.m. tip inside the Stroh Center and will be a Black Out. From there, the Falcons will transition to their rivals, the Toledo Rockets. The Stroh's edition of this season's matchup is set for Saturday (Feb. 21) with a 2 p.m. start and an Orange Wave.
As for hockey, the Falcons are coming off a split weekend with No. 18 Augustana. BGSU heads into their final home series of the regular season, hosting Minnesota State for a pair of games at Slater Family Ice Arena. Friday (Feb. 20) is set for a 7:07 p.m. puck drop for First Responders Night.
