Ben Doran Named CCHA Forward of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Junior forward Ben Doran has been named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week for games played through Feb. 28, following his strong performance in Bowling Green's road sweep at No. 16 Michigan Tech Huskies.
Doran played a key offensive role for the Bowling Green Falcons over the weekend, highlighted by a two-assist performance in Saturday's 4-3 overtime victory. Both assists proved pivotal, including the primary helper on the game-winning goal just 49 seconds into overtime.
At the faceoff dot, Doran led Bowling Green with 20 wins and posted a 54.1 percent faceoff winning percentage across the series. He also finished the weekend with a +2 rating and tied for the team lead with two points.
Bowling Green's defensive effort was equally impressive during the series, as the Falcons recorded a shutout in Friday's opener. It marked just the second time all season Michigan Tech had been shut out and the first time it had been done by an unranked opponent.
BGSU returns to Houghton, Mich., this weekend to face Michigan Tech in the quarterfinals of the CCHA Mason Cup Championship. Friday is a 7:07 p.m. puck drop, with Saturday starting at 6:07 p.m. Sunday's if necessary game starts at 5:07 p.m. All games will be broadcast on Midco Sports.
