MAC-Leading Nine Falcon Teams Post Perfect 1,000 Multi-Year APR Score
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University athletics program continues to set the standard for academic excellence, as reflected in the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) Institutional Report. The Falcons delivered another outstanding performance, highlighted by nine teams earning perfect multi-year APR scores and 14 programs achieving a perfect single-year APR for the 2024–25 academic year.
Nine Falcon teams — Baseball, Men's Golf, Ice Hockey, Women's Basketball, Women's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Soccer, and Volleyball — posted a perfect 1,000 multi-year APR score. As a department, BGSU recorded an impressive 996 four-year APR average, well above the NCAA benchmark of 930 and surpassing the most recent national average.
In addition, 14 teams earned a perfect 1,000 single-year APR score for the 2024–25 academic year: Baseball, Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Men's Golf, Ice Hockey, Women's Basketball, Women's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Soccer, Softball, Women's Tennis, Women's Track, and Volleyball.
The Academic Progress Rate provides a real-time measure of a program's academic success by tracking student-athlete eligibility and retention each term. Teams can earn up to two points per student-athlete per semester, with the multi-year APR reflecting a rolling four-year period.
Since its implementation in 2003, the APR has served as a key accountability metric, ensuring institutions remain committed to the academic achievement of their student-athletes.
These exceptional results further reinforce BGSU Athletics' dedication to success in the classroom, continuing to develop student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.
