Falcons Tie for Fifth at Virtues Intercollegiate

NASHPORT, Ohio — The Bowling Green State University men's golf team hosted the Virtues Intercollegiate this weekend, competing against a 12-team field at the Virtues Golf Club, a par-72, 7,243-yard course.
Senior Angelo Luciani led the way for the Falcons, finishing in 11th place after shooting 213 (-3) across three rounds, an improvement on his tied-for-26th finish at last year's Virtues Intercollegiate. Andrew Lee and Pedro Garcia also turned in solid rounds for the Falcons this weekend, finishing with scores of 214 (-2) and 217 (+1), respectively.
As a team, BGSU shot an 864 (E), tying with Marshall for fifth place.

"I thought it was a very positive start to the season for our squad. There was some excellent play at the beginning of the event and, after a few struggles, we were able to close out strong. Our top 3 were pretty steady from start to finish and we were able to ham & egg it to gather a solid 4th score in each of the rounds. The Falcons will take a short break before traveling to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for the Redhawk Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami University. The tournament tees off Monday, Sept. 14, and wraps up Tuesday, Sept. 15.
