Anastasija Bozic Named MAC Offensive Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players of the Week Monday afternoon (Aug. 31). Of those named, Bowling Green's Anastasija Bozic was named the Offensive Player of the Week. For Bozic, this marks her first career MAC award as well as the first of the season for BGSU after having six different players receive MAC Player of the Week awards last season.

Offensive Player of the Week: Anastasija Bozic, Bowling Green, Outside Hitter
Defensive Player of the Week: Sophie Ledbetter, Ball State, Libero
Setter of the Week: Rowan Kelly, Ohio, Setter
Bozic was strong on the attack all weekend for the Falcons, helping BGSU go 3-0 at Ohio State's Jim Stone Challenge. Bozic tallied double-digit kills in all three matches, but shined the brightest in the five-set reverse sweep over Northern Kentucky. Bozic took over offensively for BGSU, landing a career-high 24 kills for the first 20-kill match of her career. She did so while maintaining a .306 hitting percentage on 62 attacks. Bozic added seven digs in the match, as well as in the first match against Ohio State, while filling out her stat line against the Norse with four block assists, three assists, and two aces.
Up Next
The Falcons will return home to the Stroh Center next weekend to host the Best Western Invitational. BGSU will host Arkansas State, American and Northern Kentucky over two days, beginning with Arkansas State and American on Friday (Sept. 4).
