2010-2011 (senior): Named team captain…played in 37 games, missing four games due to injury…scored five goals and 11 assists, finishing with 16 points on the season…opened the season with an assist against Michigan (Oct. 8)…scored goals in back-to-back games against Clarkson (Oct. 16) and Alabama-Huntsville (Oct. 22)…recorded two multi-point games the first coming against Notre Dame (Nov. 5) and the second against Ohio State (Dec. 10)…had a four-game point streak between Nov. 27 and Dec. 10, scoring one goal and four assists…had an on-ice rating of even or better in 26 games finishing the season with a (-7) on-ice rating…committed 12 penalties for 24 minutes…blocked 25 shots on the season, most among BGSU forwards…was the Falcons representative for CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year…earned the Dr. Ron Zweirlein Leadership Award and Howard Brown Coaches’ Award…after the conclusion of his collegiate career he was signed by the Toledo Walleye (ECHL).
2009-10 (junior): Named alternate captain for the 2009-10 season…scored five goals and a career-high 13 assists, good for 18 points…his assist total ranked second on the team and his total points earned him third-best…blocked 26 shots and finished with an on-ice rating of (-15)…spent 52 minutes in the penalty box after 22 infractions…missed the first two games due to a head injury, but played the remaining 34 games in succession…in his first game back from injury versus Providence (Oct. 23) he chipped in with an assist…from Nov. 13 to Dec. 5 he scored three goals and six assists - nine points - over eight games…had three multiple-point games in a row where he scored three goals and three assists against Alaska (Nov. 13-14) and Michigan (Nov. 20)…totaled five multi-point games for the season, later doing so against Northern Michigan (Jan. 16) with two assists and again versus Michigan State (Feb. 27) with a goal and an assist…scored two power-play goals on the year, both in games resulting in a tie (Western Michigan, Jan. 22 and MSU, Feb. 27)…took the second-most shots on the team (89)…blocked 26 shots.
2008-09 (sophomore): Played in all 38 games…recorded 24 points (12g, 12a) for the year…hit the game-tying goal against Niagara (Oct. 11), sending it to overtime…was third on the team in scoring in CCHA contests...had points in nine of the first 13 games collecting seven goals and seven assists during that time...then had 10 points in the final 25 games of the season...had four two-point games and two three-point games…was the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week following the Northern Michigan series in November when he had his first multi-goal game and scored both BG goals in their win to open the series then assisted on the game-winner the following night...hit three game-winning goals, all at home against Northern Michigan Nov. 14), Clarkson (Dec. 20) and Michigan State (Feb. 21)...his goal against Michigan State on senior night was a shorthanded, unassisted, game-winning tally...was even or better in 26 games with a best of (+3) in the Michigan State (Feb. 21) contest...established career-highs in all three offensive categories...recorded points in 16 games, including six separate multi-point games…recorded a point in nine of 12 games between Oct. 11 and Nov. 21 and 14 points total in that span…scored a goal and recorded an assist in five separate games… played on a line with Brandon Svendsen and Dan Sexton for most of the season...recorded 25 blocks… finished with a (-9) rating.
2007-08 (freshman): Played in 37 games, finishing with 15 points (9g, 6a)...had five power-play goals and two game-winners...finished the season with a (-5) rating but was plus or even in 26 of 37 games...had 18 penalties and 36 penalty minutes...his first collegiate goal was a game-winner in overtime at Western Michigan (Nov. 2) after he picked up his first collegiate point with an assist on the game-tying goal with 2:15 left in regulation...scored two goals at the Badger Hockey Classic in Madison, Wis. (Dec. 28-29)...scored the tying goal in the third period of the Falcons' 4-2 win at Lake Superior State (Jan. 11)...ranked third on the team among freshmen with 15 points.
Prior to BGSU: Spent 2006-07 competing with Sioux Falls of the USHL...helped lead Sioux Falls to its first Clark Cup title and Tier I national championship with freshmen teammates Dan Sexton and Patrick Tiesling...recorded 41 points (20g, 21a), 113 penalty minutes and 11 power-play goals in 56 games...also posted 12 points (5g, 7a) in eight playoff games, while also recording a (+6) rating...competed with Santa Fe in 2005-06 recording 39 points (16g, 23a) in 58 games while earning the Santa Fe Rookie of the Year.
Personal: Full name - David M. Solway...son of Mike and Kathy Solway...has two sisters, Sarah and Beth…born May 30, 1987...a 2005 graduate of Green Bay West High School...studied supply chain management at BGSU.
