The first MAC Player of the Year honoree in BGSU women's tennis history ... only the second player in program history to be named an Academic All-American ... finished her career with 190 overall wins, a school record ... also broke the BG record for career singles victories, ending her career with 96 ... had 94 doubles wins to rank second on that BGSU career list ... had a stellar winning percentage of .691 during her four years ... went 96-40 in singles and 94-45 in doubles, for an overall mark of 190-85 ... became just the second player in school history to win at least 40 matches in all four seasons as a Falcon ... had an overall career record of 41-21 (22-10 singles, 19-11 doubles) in MAC regular-season matches ... all of her career singles action in dual-match play came at the top-three flights ... went a combined 57-24 in those matches, including 25-11 at the top flight, 17-6 at the second and 15-7 at the third ... had an overall record of 21-3 in the BGSU Invitational during her career ... was named an ITA Scholar Athlete in each of her four seasons at BGSU.

The MAC Player of the Year ... also named to the All-MAC First Team for the second time in her career ... named to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team, becoming just the second individual in BGSU women's tennis history to earn Academic All-America honors ... was an Academic All-District First-Team selection ... a 2013-14 team co-captain ... was the female recipient of the Falcon Medal of Honor, the highest award given by the BGSU Department of Athletics ... that award is given to just one male and one female student-athlete among all 18 sports each year, who embody the essence of the qualities BGSU Athletics holds important for all student-athletes -- scholarship, athletics, leadership and service ... one of just two BGSU student-athletes to recieve the MAC Medal of Excellence Award ... that award is presented to student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics, athletics, leadership and service ... named to the Academic All-MAC Team for the third consecutive season, and earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the fourth year in a row ... led the Falcons with 41 overall wins ... also paced the team in singles (22) and doubles (19) victories ... playing almost exclusively at the top singles flight, she finished the regular season with a 6-2 singles mark in MAC dual matches ... teamed with Katie Brozovich for a 5-2 doubles record in MAC play ... was 11-6 overall at the number-one singles flight in dual matches, and also posted an 11-6 doubles mark in dual-match play, with all but one of those matches coming at flight number two ... led the Falcons with 19 wins in the fall ... teamed with Brozovich to go 18-7 in doubles on the year, and was 2-1 with both Drew Fillis and Emily Reuland during the fall ... the Brozovich/Chiricosta duo was named MAC Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 12, after posting wins against Michigan State and UIC the previous weekend ... tied the BGSU career record for singles wins -- held by her sister, Christine -- in a match played roughly five miles from her hometown, as the Falcons downed Cleveland State (Feb. 14) ... then, matched her sister's record for overall wins on March 12, with a doubles victory vs. Rhode Island ... broke both records in the Falcons' conference opener, a 4-3 win over Western Michigan at the Perrysburg Tennis Center (March 22) ... teamed with Brozovich for an 8-2 win at the second doubles flight, picking up her 179th overall victory as a Falcon ... then, she picked up singles win number 90 and overall victory number 180 with a three-set win over Kathleen Hawkins at the top flight ... that win was the first of three-straight singles victories after the Falcons had fallen behind the Broncos, 3-1 ... was named the MAC's Scholar-Athlete of the Week on March 26 for her exploits in that WMU match ... won at both singles and doubles as the Falcons downed Buffalo on Senior Day at Keefe Courts (April 12) ... lost only four games in her top-flight win over UB's Tanvi Shah that afternoon ... that victory concluded a stretch of five-straight singles wins to begin the month of April ... won a singles championship at the top flight at the BGSU Invitational, losing just 10 total games in six sets ... had a team-best 5-1 record (singles and doubles combined) at the BG Invite ... had a 4-0 start to the season in singles, including a straight-sets win over a Louisville player at the Miami Invitational ... advanced to the Round of 16 in the qualifying draw at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship, defeating Michigan's Annie Wierda along the way ... posted wins over players from Notre Dame and Colorado at the WMU Super Challenge in Kalamazoo ... in doubles, won two of three matches with Fillis at the BGSU Invitational, then won two matches with Brozovich -- including a victory over a Louisville duo -- at the Miami Invitational the next weekend ... was a perfect 3-0 in doubles in Oxford, teaming with Reuland for one match ... the Chiricosta/Reuland duo defeated a Northwestern team in the doubles main draw at the ITA event, before losing to a Michigan tandem in the Round of 16 ... in the final match of her career, led Eastern Michigan's Klara Supejova (the 2013 MAC Player of the Year) when the match was halted in the second set.
2012-13
An All-MAC Second-Team selection as the Falcons won a school-record 17 matches and recorded the best conference regular-season and tournament finishes in program history ... named to the Academic All-MAC Team for the second-straight season ... was named MAC Player of the Week twice on the season and MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week once ... also named an ITA Scholar Athlete for the third time in as many seasons ... had an overall record of 51-23, leading the Falcons in wins ... went 26-9 in singles, and had a 25-14 doubles record ... her singles win total tied for fourth on the BGSU single-season list ... during the dual-match portion of the season, had a 16-5 singles record, going 6-2 at the top flight and 10-3 at the second ... was 5-3 in MAC play ... won 12 consecutive singles matches from Jan. 19 to March 22 ... captured 10 of those 12 contests in the minimum two sets ... played all but four of her doubles matches with classmate Emily Reuland, with that duo going 22-13 ... the juniors won eight-straight matches to end non-conference play ... had a 3-1 mark when competing with senior Jade Johnson, including a 1-1 mark at the second flight during dual-match play ... picked up a straight-sets victory at the top singles flight, giving the Falcons their third point en route to an historic win at Western Michigan (April 20) ... it marked BGSU's first-ever win against the Broncos ... the following weekend, led Akron's Angelina Jogasuria, 5-3, in the third set of their top-flight contest in the MAC Championships semifinal round when the match was abandoned (April 27) ... named MAC Player of the Week on March 22 after going a perfect 4-0 in wins over Butler and UIC the previous weekend ... won 15 consecutive matches (singles and doubles combined) from Jan. 19 to Feb. 24 ... recorded the match-clinching victory against Cincinnati (Feb. 10), with her straight-sets win at the second singles flight breaking a 3-3 deadlock and giving the Falcons a 4-3 decision ... gave the Brown and Orange the match-clinching fourth point the next time out, in a 4-3 victory over IPFW (Feb. 22) ... earned MAC P-O-W honors on Feb. 6, after going a perfect 4-0 in wins over Youngstown State (Feb. 2) and Evansville (Feb. 3) the previous weekend ... also was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her performance that same weekend ... lost only seven total games in those four matches (two singles, two doubles) ... went 19-6 overall in the fall, posting the second-highest win total on the Falcons ... was 9-3 in singles play, ranking second on the team in singles wins ... tied for the team's best doubles ledger in the fall, with a 10-3 mark ... won the consolation final at the top singles flight at the WMU Super Challenge ... after losing her first-round match to a Notre Dame player, defeated opponents from Marquette and Iowa State ... went 5-1 on the weekend at the Rocket Invitational ... teamed up with Reuland for three doubles victories in as many tries, and went 2-1 in singles play ... captured titles in both singles and doubles at the BGSU Invitational ... went a perfect 3-0 at the second singles flight, winning all three matches in straight sets, and combined with Reuland to win three-straight matches at the top doubles level ... also teamed with Reuland to advance all the way to the championship match at the Muirfield Collegiate Tennis Invitational, before losing to a Louisville tandem ... won her first two singles matches that weekend before losing in the third round.

Named to the All-MAC First Team ... also named to the Academic All-MAC Team in her first year of eligibility ... was named the MAC's Player of the Week three times on the year ... additionally, was named an ITA Scholar Athlete for the second year in a row ... her 45-20 overall record included a 23-9 singles mark and a doubles record of 22-11 ... finished second on the Falcons in singles and overall wins, and tied for second in doubles victories ... had a 6-2 singles mark in MAC play, splitting time between the first and second flights ... teamed with fellow sophomore Emily Reuland for a 6-2 record in league doubles matches, all at the number-one flight ... was 14-5 in singles during the dual-match schedule, tying for the best record on the team ... had win streaks of eight, six and five matches in singles play during the season ... captured her final six singles decisions of the season before her MAC tourney semifinal-round match was abandoned ... her overall doubles mark included an 8-3 mark with Reuland, a 10-6 record with Mary Hill and a 4-2 ledger with Maddy Eccleston ... no fewer than 21 of her 23 singles wins came in straight sets ... third and final MAC Player-of-the-Week award came on April 25, after she had posted singles wins at both Eastern Michigan and Toledo to end the regular season ... the latter win was a 6-2, 6-1 decision over UT's Pia Rygh at the second flight ... did not lose a game in her sweep of Valparaiso's Megan Barthels ... in doubles, had five-match winning streaks with both Hill and Reuland, and won four-straight matches with Eccleston ... she and Reuland won eight of their first nine matches together during a span from late March to late April ... won at both singles and doubles against Western Michigan, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Maria Nivia at the number-one singles flight ... her 6-1, 6-0 win over Buffalo's Marta Stoyanova gave the Falcons the clinching point in what would prove to be a 4-3 victory over the Bulls ... picked up a win over Nicole Herzog of Michigan State in top-flight action, winning a 6-0 second set in the teams' dual in East Lansing ... earned her second MAC-Player-of-the-Week award in a four-week span for her performance against the Spartans, receiving the honor on Feb. 15 ... she and Reuland posted a doubles win, their second in as many matches vs. an MSU team on the year, in that match ... lost only two total games in her second-flight match against Teona Tsertsvadze of UIC ... earned MAC P-O-W honors on Jan. 26 after winning at both the top singles and doubles flights vs. Duquesne ... had a record of 19-8 in the fall, including a 9-4 singles mark and a 10-4 doubles ledger ... reeled off eight consecutive singles wins to start the fall schedule, earning flight titles at both the BGSU Invitational and the Fall MAC Invite ... all eight of those wins came in straight sets ... ended the fall campaign by winning the back draw of her singles flight at Michigan State's Green and White Invitational ... of her four singles losses in the fall, two came in the main draw at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, including a loss to Northwestern's Stacey Lee in a 10-8 tiebreaker ... teamed with Hill for a 2-0 record at the Rocket Invite ... went 6-0 at the Fall MAC Invite, winning both singles and doubles titles in Kalamazoo ... was partnered with Eccleston at that event ... won the top singles flight at the BGSU Invitational to kick off the season.

Led the Falcons with 53 wins, the third-highest single-season total in BGSU history ... was named an ITA Scholar Athlete ... had 28 singles victories, ranking second on that BG single-season chart, and had 25 doubles wins to tie for fifth on that list ... 28-9 singles record included a 15-7 mark at the third flight in dual matches ... went 5-3 in MAC play and 1-1 in the conference championships ... in doubles, had an overall record of 25-10 ... teamed for a 17-5 record with fellow first-year Falcon Mary Hill ... that duo went 6-1 in MAC matches and 10-2 in dual-match play at the third flight ... teamed with Hill to win six-straight matches from Feb. 27 to April 2 ... also teamed with classmate Emily Reuland, going 6-4 at the second flight in dual matches ... that tandem had an overall mark of 8-5 ... went 21-6 overall in the fall, leading the Brown and Orange in wins in her first semester on campus ... had a 12-2 singles mark, leading the Falcons in singles victories ... in doubles, was 9-4 to tie for team honors ... teamed with Hill to win a doubles crown at the second flight at the BGSU Invitational, in her first weekend of collegiate action ... went a perfect 4-0 in singles action at the Spartan Invitational, winning a flight title ... defeated opponents from Chicago State, Cleveland State, Marquette and Louisville en route to that crown ... also was unbeaten (3-0) at the Rocket Invite, a non-flighted tourney ... won a singles flight back draw at the ITA Second Chance.

Nicole Elizabeth Chiricosta was born on July 6, 1992, in Avon Lake, Ohio ... a communications major ... graduated in May of 2014 with a stellar cumulative GPA of 3.97 ... was the President of BGSU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President in the 2013-14 academic year, after serving as that organization's Vice President/Career Development in 2012-13 ... daughter of Rick and Sheila Chiricosta ... the youngest of three children ... has a brother and a sister ... sister, Christine, was a four-year tennis standout at BGSU, and set the school's career wins records (two of which were broken by Nikki) before graduating in 2011 ... both parents played collegiate tennis at Toledo ... brother, Matt, played tennis at Allegheny College ... mother was BGSU’s head tennis coach for three years (1987-88 through 1989-90), guiding the Falcons to a then-school record 15 wins in her final season.
