2013-14 (Sophomore): Played 37 games for the Falcons…missed two games due to playing for Team Latvia in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games…only NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey player to be named to an Olympic roster for the Sochi games…named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week (11/26/13)… finished fourth on the team with a career-best 22 points…ranked second on the team with a career-best 19 assists…ranked tied for fourth with two power-play goals…finished the season with 27 blocked shots…registered 30 shots on goal…committed 20 penalties, earning 51 PIM for the year…registered his first point of the year with an assist on the road against No. 16 Union in a 3-3 tie (10/11/13)…recorded two assists and a plus-1 on-ice rating at home in a 7-0 shutout win over Colgate (10/19/13)…tallied two assists in the Falcons’ 6-1 win at home against Alaska-Anchorage (11/1/13)…tallied an assist on the road in a 3-3 tie against No. 14 Ferris State (11/15/13)…recorded an assist and a plus-2 on-ice rating on the road in a 4-4 tie against Michigan Tech (12/14/13)…tallied two points (1g, 1a) on the road against Alabama-Huntsville (1/3/14)…netted a goal at home against Michigan Tech (1/31/14)…found the twine on the road during the Falcons’ 3-2 win over Northern Michigan (3/1/14)…tallied an assist in the opening game of the WCHA First Round against Michigan Tech (3/14/14).

Prior to BGSU: Ralfs Freibergs (Riga, Latvia) comes to Bowling Green after playing two seasons with the Texas Tornado (2009-11) of the NAHL, and one season with the Lincoln Stars (2011-12) of the United States Hockey League. Over two seasons with Texas, Freibergs recorded 73 points (8G, 65A) in 79 career games, ranking third on the team in points in 2010-11 (7G, 48A). Freibergs led all Lincoln defenseman in scoring last season, recording eight goals and 34 assists in 58 games played. Freibergs finished last season with a +25 on ice rating
