Community Involvment
Â
Goal: To instill the value of community through volunteer service.
The Office of Student-Athlete Services works closely with the BGSU Center for Community & Civic Engagement to provide opportunities for student-athletes to give back to the Bowling Green Community. Â Through campus-wide projects like Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and individual opportunities, student-athletes are given ample opportunities to engage in one-time or regular volunteering.
Special Olympics
Student-Athlete Services and SAAC have formed a relationship with the Special Olympics of Northwest Ohio. Â The Mr. & Miss Falcon Pageant is an annual talent show that showcases the talents of our BGSU Falcons. Â Various student-athletes perform to raise money for Special Olympics.
Trick-or-Treat
Each year, SAAC hosts a trick-or-treat night at the Stroh Center, usually centered around a home volleyball match. SAAC invites community children to the Stroh Center for games and activities, with the opportunity to interact with BGSU's student-athletes across all sports. Â
