Zach Garvin enters his first season at Bowling Green as special teams quality control.
Garvin spent the 2023 season at Community Christian College, where he served as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterbacks and wide receivers coach, and special teams coordinator. He installed the Saints’ offensive scheme, developed all special teams units, and recruited nationwide for quarterbacks, receivers and specialists. He also stepped in as acting head coach for a game against Garden City Community College.
Prior to Community Christian, Garvin was a defensive backs graduate assistant at Central Michigan (2022-23). He worked closely with the defensive backs coach on game planning and player development, mentored two All-MAC defensive backs, and assisted with recruiting in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He also coordinated special teams and defensive back scout teams, managed recruiting visits, and supported academic and admissions processes for prospective student-athletes.
Garvin began his Division I experience at Wake Forest as a recruiting intern in 2022, where he supported the defensive line coach, organized recruiting visits and evaluations, and tracked offers. He launched his coaching career at his alma mater, Wayne State, as a student assistant with the defensive backs from 2020-22. In addition to assisting with game plans and scouting reports, he helped mentor two All-GLIAC defensive backs and organized academic support initiatives for student-athletes.
