Tony Palmieri (pronounced paul-MARY) joined the BGSU staff in August 2021 as the team’s video coordinator.
In his role, Palmieri coordinates the multi-camera filming of practices and games and supervises student interns. Throughout his time at Bowling Green, he helped integrate iPads into the team’s workflow for video distribution to players and coaches.
Palmieri came to Bowling Green with extensive experience in video. From 2016-21, he served as the coordinator of player development/video coordinator at the University of Delaware where he also helped create weekly highlight and recruiting videos as well as graphics for the team.
Before Delaware, Palmieri was the athletics video coordinator at the University of Richmond from 2012-16. He coordinated the video recording of practices and games for eight different sports and created weekly highlight videos and graphics for the Spider football team that made the FCS playoffs three years in a row. Palmieri also coordinated the video needs for the 2014 A10 Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Field Hockey Championships.
Palmieri has experience working in the NFL, as worked as a volunteer assistant editor for the New York Giants in 2011 editing all video for player and coach review. He also served as the assistant video coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2008.
Additionally, Palmieri has stops as a video coordinator for the UFL’s Hartford Colonials (2010), Yale University (2009) and the South Sydney Rabbitohs (2008), a professional rugby team in Australia.
Palmieri graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s in communication electronic media in 2009 where he was an Olympic style weightlifting collegiate medalist.
A Destrehan, Louisiana native, Palmieri graduated from Destrehan High School. His father, Jerry, was a longtime strength and conditioning coach in the NFL and won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants under coach Tom Coughlin. He also served as the Jacksonville Jaguars’ strength and conditioning coach from 1995-02 under Coughlin.
Palmieri and his wife, Sabrina, reside in Bowling Green.
