Zuniga joined the Falcons' staff ahead of head coach Tanner Barton's first season in 2024-25 and has been integral to the program's managment and improvement. He oversaw operational duties and helped coach Bowling Green's 25-26 season. That season, the Falcons opened 12-0, posted its first MAC dual win since 2022 against Miami (Ohio) and defeated Toledo in the Battle of I-75.
Before arriving at Bowling Green, Zuniga spent the 2023-24 season as head coach of the swimming and diving program at Southview High School in Sylvania, Ohio, where he helped the team set new school records and post some of its largest postseason time drops in years. He also served as an assistant coach at Southview during the 2021-22 season, writing practice plans and meet-day lineups while helping send more swimmers to the district meet than the year before.
Zuniga is a Bowling Green graduate, earning his bachelor's degree in intervention specialist studies from the university in 2021. As a student, he served as a student coach/manager for the swimming and diving program from 2018-22, helping run practices and plan team travel.
A native of Massillon, Ohio, Zuniga attended Perry High School before graduating from Canton Central Catholic High School in 2017, where he competed on the swimming and diving team.
