Bryan Mestre was hired in June 2023 as the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Development: Mentorship & Life Design. Bryan will oversee Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and We Are One Team (WA1T). Bryan will also provide additional support for the sports programs.

Bryan came to SAS from BGSU’s Office of Admissions where he recruited multiple out-of-state territories, as well as in-state territories.

Prior to BGSU, Bryan was an Admissions counselor at Defiance College within the Office of Admissions. Bryan oversaw multiple operations and oversaw admissions ambassadors and orientation leaders during his time at Defiance College.

Bryan also previously served as a graduate assistant for the football program at Defiance College and provided administrative support and coached the defensive line and linebackers (December 2018 – March 2020). Bryan earned his master of business administration with a concentration in leadership (September 2018 – May 2020).

Originally from Hialeah, Fla., Bryan received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Defiance College in May 2018. During his time at Defiance College, he was a student-athlete in the football program as well as the track and field program.

Bryan is currently pursuing his Ed.D in leadership studies through the College of Education and Human Development from Bowling Green State University.
