Dillon Horter joined BGSU Athletics in July 2026 as assistant athletic director for development.

In his role, he cultivates, solicits and stewards philanthropic support for Falcon Athletics by building meaningful relationships with alumni, donors and friends of the University, inspiring investment in the success of BGSU's student-athletes and athletic programs.

Before joining the Falcons, Horter spent three years at The University of Toledo as associate director of athletics development. Earlier in his career, he held multiple roles at Illinois State University, beginning as a graduate assistant for athletics development before being hired as special assistant for executive operations/development and later serving as director of sales and fan development. He also gained valuable experience through professional practices with the athletics development offices at Louisiana Tech University (LTAC) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (I-FUND).

A native of Liberty Township, Ohio, Horter graduated magna cum laude from The University of Toledo in 2020 with bachelor's degrees in criminal justice and political science. He went on to earn a master's degree in sport management from Illinois State University in 2022.
