Dominic Bennett joined the Bowling Green Volleyball staff ahead of the 2025 season and enters his second season with BGSU in 2026.Â
During his first season with Orange and Brown in 2025, Bennett aided the Falcons to a 17-15 record while going 10-8 within the Mid-American Conference. BGSU made the MAC Tournament while Jessica Andrews and Avery Hobson earned First Team All-MAC honors. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Falcons ranked inside the top 50 in the nation for multiple stats, including total blocks (24th, 288.5), assists (30th, 1,454), kills (T-37th, 1,557), total attacks (39th, 4,203) and aces (40th, 197). The Falcons made, and hosted, the MAC Tournament at the conclusion of the regular season, advancing to the semifinals round.
Bennett joined the Falcons after spending a season as an assistant coach at Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill. In 2024, Bennett helped coach the Hawks to a 39-8 record on the season, including a third place finish in the NJCAA D-II National Tournament, the first national placement in program history.Â
Prior to joining Heartland, Bennett played three seasons at Illinois Wesleyan, being part of the program’s inaugural team in 2021. Serving as a setter for the Titans, Bennett earned a letter each of his three seasons while also being a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree. During his tenure at IWU, Bennett appeared in 45 matches and 113 sets, totaling 377 assists, 100 digs and eight aces. While playing, he also served as an assistant coach at Normal Community West High School as well as gaining experience as a youth coach with Illini Elite Volleyball Club.
