Dr. Jamie Ann Baringer joined Bowling Green State University Athletics in July 2010 as the Director of the BGSU Ice Arena. During her tenure, she has led four major renovation projects that have transformed the Slater Family Ice Arena, including upgrades to the refrigeration system with new compressors, replacement of the concrete ice slabs, construction of new locker rooms, and the addition of a new mezzanine in 2024 featuring 100 premium seats.

In January 2016, Baringer was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Arena Operations, and in July 2020 she was named Associate Athletics Director for Facility Operations. In her current role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight for all BGSU Athletics facilities, events, and championships, including the department's premier competition and event venues the Slater Family Ice Arena and Stroh Center. She oversees facility operations, event management, championship administration, capital improvement projects, strategic planning, operational policy development, and fiscal management while ensuring a first-class experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, fans, and campus and community partners. Baringer also leads one of the department's largest student employment programs, providing leadership, training, and professional development for more than 170 student employees who support athletics facilities, game operations, championships, and special events.

Under Baringer's leadership, BGSU Athletics annually hosts more than 500 athletic competitions, championships, and special events while supporting NCAA and Mid-American Conference championships, external rentals, camps, clinics, and year-round programming that serves thousands of student-athletes, fans, and community members. Her commitment to operational excellence, servant leadership, and continuous improvement has positioned BGSU's facilities among the premier collegiate venues in the region.

In addition to her facility operations responsibilities, Baringer serves as the Sport Administrator for the Bowling Green softball program. In this role, she provides administrative leadership and strategic oversight while working closely with the coaching staff and student-athletes to support competitive success, academic achievement, student-athlete well-being, and alignment with the mission and goals of BGSU Athletics.

Prior to joining BGSU, Baringer spent five years as General Manager of the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena for the Newark Sports and Events Commission in Newark, Ohio. She began her career in the ice arena industry in 2001 under former BGSU hockey coach Jack Vivian as a Facility Manager with JRV Management.

A nationally recognized leader in the ice arena industry, Baringer serves on the Board of Directors for Ice Sports Industry (ISI) as an At-Large Member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Education and Certification Master Committee. She is also a Lead Instructor for ISI University, where she develops curriculum and delivers educational seminars that prepare and advance ice arena managers and operators throughout North America. In 2015, she earned the prestigious Certified Arena Executive (CAE) designation through ISI University, the organization's highest professional certification for ice arena managers and operators.

Baringer earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University in 2023. Her dissertation, Perceived Crisis Readiness of Ice Arena Managers, examined leadership and emergency preparedness within the ice arena industry. She received her Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a specialization in Sport Administration from Cleveland State University in 2006 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Sport Management from Baldwin-Wallace College (now Baldwin Wallace University) in 1998.

A standout student-athlete, Baringer was a four-year letterwinner on the Baldwin-Wallace women's soccer team. She helped lead the Yellow Jackets to an undefeated Ohio Athletic Conference season and conference championship in 1994 while earning Co-Most Valuable Player honors, First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition, and NCAA Division III All-Mideast Region honors. In recognition of her outstanding athletic career, she was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.
