Lauren Best-Hovermale joined the Bowling Green compliance office in May 2021 as an intern, was promoted to assistant director in November 2021 and was again promoted to director in October of 2024. Best came to BGSU after one academic year at Toledo as a compliance extern.
Best, a licensed attorney in the state of Ohio, is a 2021 cum laude graduate of Toledo Law School where she was on the Dean’s List and was a full-tuition merit scholarship recipient.
Best, a three-year letterwinner in softball at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Mich., graduated in three years with a bachelor of arts in law and politics in May 2018, followed by a bachelor of business administration in sport management in August 2018. She later graduated with a 4.0 GPA from SHU in December 2019 with a master of business administration.
A pitcher while at SHU, Best was on the Dean’s List, earned the 2018 NAIA Champions of Character Award, was a two-time NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Best-Hovermale resides in Sylvania with her husband, Jon, and their son, JJ.
