Lukas Pytlak joined the Bowling Green Volleyball staff ahead of the 2025 season as an assistant coach and will head into his second season with the Falcons in 2026.

During his first season with Orange and Brown in 2025, Pytlak aided the Falcons to a 17-15 record while going 10-8 within the Mid-American Conference. BGSU made the MAC Tournament while Jessica Andrews and Avery Hobson earned First Team All-MAC honors. At the conclusion of the regular season, the Falcons ranked inside the top 50 in the nation for multiple stats, including total blocks (24th, 288.5), assists (30th, 1,454), kills (T-37th, 1,557), total attacks (39th, 4,203) and aces (40th, 197). The Falcons made, and hosted, the MAC Tournament at the conclusion of the regular season, advancing to the semifinals round.

Pytlak joined BGSU following a playing career in volleyball, spending five seasons at Ball State. After redshirting as a freshman in 2021, Pytlak went on to play in 89 matches from 2022-25, as well as 326 sets for the Cardinals. He appeared in just three matches in 2022, but went on to play in 86 of the team’s 90 matches over the following three seasons, earning the libero role for Ball State.

A native of Lake Zurich, Ill., Pytlak has been a five-time Academic All-Conference recipient and aided the Cardinals to Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) regular season and tournament titles in 2022, receiving not only a bid to the NCAA Tournament, but an automatic bye to the semifinal round. Over his time in Muncie, Pytlak recorded 284 digs to go along with 110 assists.
