A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Segura earned bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Missouri Valley College in 2015.
Prior to his arrival at Bowling Green, Segura worked as a graduate assistant at William Penn University from 2015-17 where he supervised the Men's Soccer, Wrestling and Baseball programs and earned a master's degree in Business Leadership.
Segura is BOC certified with licenses to practice in the states of Ohio and Iowa, and a certified American Red Cross instructor. He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).Â
