Will O'Leary joined the BGSU athletics department in July 2022 as the assistant athletics director for ticket sales & annual giving. He comes to Bowling Green after two years at Mercyhurst where he served as the assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions.
In his first year at Mercyhurst, O'Leary helped improve the game atmosphere by adding more giveaways and promotions at varsity games, implementing music strategies to enhance the game atmosphere, and improved the ticket buying experience for all fans alike. O'Leary also worked with various schools in Erie county, where Mercyhurst teams visited schools to read, play games, and talk about what it takes to be a college student athlete and the importance of school.Â
Prior to Mercyhurst, O'Leary spent four years at Merrimack College as the director of ticketing and fan experience. In this role, O'Leary oversaw revenue operations for Division I men's/women's ice hockey, Division II men's/women's basketball, and Division II football, with increases in revenue each year. O'Leary also led the search for a new ticket platform that helped streamline the buyer process while maintaining PCI compliance for the College.Â
A native of Franklin, Mass., O'Leary graduated from Dean College, in Franklin, Mass., in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He followed that up by earning a master's degree in leadership at Merrimack in 2015.
