Moment No. 8 From 2009-10: Women's Basketball Beats No. 14 Vanderbilt

Throughout the summer, we'll be releasing our list of the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 athletic year at BGSU. The list was compiled and voted on by members of the Athletics Department administration and the Athletic Communications office. We'll release the list one at a time until announcing the No. 1 moment of the year on Aug. 2. Today, we look back at our No. 8 moment of the year.

Women's Basketball Defeats No. 14 Vanderbilt
During a season in which the Bowling Green women's basketball team won its sixth consecutive Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in six years, the Falcons picked up a big victory in non-conference play by going on the road to defeat national power Vanderbilt. Ironically, it was BGSU's first win over a nationally-ranked team since a victory over the Commodores in the second round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
