June 21, 2011 | General, Women's Basketball
Throughout the summer, the Bowling Green State University Athletics Department will be counting down the top 10 stories of the 2010-11 year. The list was compiled and voted on by members of the Athletics Department administration and Athletic Communications department. We'll release the list one at a time until announcing the No. 1 moment on Aug. 2.
Lauren Prochaska Sets NCAA Division I Record By Making 70 Consecutive Free-Throws
On Nov. 15, Lauren Prochaska missed a free-throw with about 10 minutes remaining against Creighton. Eight minutes later, she sank two charity shots that started the most impressive streak in NCAA Division I history. Over the course of the next eight games, she was perfect from the stripe, breaking Ginny Doyle's record of 66 consecutive made free-throws, which had stood for almost 20 years. Prochaska went on to make 70 in a row before finally missing one against Canisius but, by that time, she had etched her name in the record book.
