For the fifth year in a row, BGSU Athletics will be counting down the top stories of the year leading into the beginning of the fall athletics season. With conference championships, individual honors, national tournament appearances and many other events, the 2013-14 season was a banner year.

We will release the list one at a time throughout the summer until the No. 1 story of the year is announced on Aug. 1 -- just as #FalconFast BGSU football camp gets underway and the 2014-15 season has officially started! Don't forget to purchase your season tickets NOW!

Today we announce the No. 10 story of the year:

BGSU Volleyball Upsets #13 BYU For First Win Over A Ranked Opponent In Program History
In 2012, BGSU Volleyball won a MAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's second round for the first time in program history. But one thing remained to be done -- beat a top 25 team. The Falcons finally broke through in 2013 in dramatic fashion, coming back from two sets down to defeat No. 13 BYU in the Stroh Center on Aug. 31. BGSU lost the first two sets 25-20 and 25-22 and then the Falcons trailed 22-20 in the third. But a BYU service error opened the door for a comeback and the Falcons hammered down four consecutive kills to earn the third set victory. Bowling Green never looked back, winning the fourth 25-21 and then jumping out to a 7-1 lead in the fifth en route to the victory.
