For the fourth year in a row, BGSU Athletics will be counting down the top stories of the year all summer long. 2012-13 was a banner year for athletics at BGSU and the list of best moments of the year is arguably the strongest since beginning this annual event.

BGSU Volleyball Wins MAC Tournament, NCAA Tournament First Round Match
Under first-year head coach Danijela Tomic, expectations for the BGSU Volleyball program in 2012 were minimal. But the Falcons changed all that by going 13-3 in the Mid-American Conference during the regular season, winning seven more league matches than the year prior.
The Falcons entered the MAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed but limped down the stretch and lost to Northern Illinois to close out the regular season. But BGSU found its groove quickly in the MAC Tournament, sweeping Eastern Michigan to advance to the MAC Tournament semifinals. In the finals, Bowling Green faced a Northern Illinois team that had cost it the regular season MAC Championship. BGSU was down two sets and faced two match points in the third before rallying in dramatic fashion. Bowling Green won the third and fourth sets before dominating the fifth 15-4 to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. (CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY)
In the NCAA Tournament, Bowling Green again faced a five-set match, defeating Yale in the opening round with yet another rally. After dropping the opening set, BGSU won sets two and three before a 15-11 fifth-set victory closed it out. (CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY) Bowling Green's season came to an end the next day as the Falcons lost to No. 1 ranked Penn State in three sets, but not before BGSU went further than it ever had in program history.
